Youth are more likely to speak out about injustices, face challenges, have strong opinions, know how to influence others, and have the potential to change and represent their rights and empowerment. They can be a creative force, a dynamic source of innovations, and they have undoubtedly, throughout history, participated, contributed, and even catalyzed important changes in political systems, power-sharing dynamics, and economic opportunities (UN.org, 2013). People have the assumption to believe that simply because you are young, you are uneducated on all topics, like a politician. Being young is never a barrier or restriction that could hinder the youth from being educated, socially conscious, and responsible. The problem is putting up those barriers to limit the youth of today from being more than empowered and politically aware when their future and as a result, dreams that they have are at stake. Even when faced with inequality, challenges within education, and many forms of discrimination, young people still make decisions and fight for what they believe in and what they see for the future. We are all eager for change and the youth of this generation could make it all possible — being a youth that is vocal in their opinions could make this generation a well-educated one.
Vocal youths are the hope of this country.
